Meet Gramma! A German Shorthaired Pointer, approximately 8-years-old, she may be lumpy and bumpy, but she has a LOT of love to give. Her favorite thing to do is snuggle, and she has to make sure you’re safe at all times. Gramma is up-to-date on her shots, has been spayed, and all her “lumps” have been tested and are benign. Due to neglect in her nail care before her rescue, we are still working on shortening her nails. The quick is very long, nails are incredibly hard, and nail care is very taxing on her.
Gramma has had a troubled past that still seems to bother her, as she is quite anxious. She requires much patience, but she is an amazing and sweet lady. She is scared of men, due to her past, and is timid and shy, but she warms up quickly to females. She is wonderful with children, but loud noises scare her. Due to this, Gramma would do best in a family without small children. She does very well with cats and other dogs, but she prefers her human.
This pretty lady is definitely a love bug. She is completely house-trained and will shake your hand for a treat. Gramma needs frequent reminders that the world isn’t such a scary place.
